Tools for running 20 Below - at the table, on a virtual tabletop, or on your own machine.

None of this is required to play — the rules are free and complete on their own. Everything below is free too, and nothing in your browser needs installing.

For the table

Player's Guide Playtest PDF · 14.7 MB
The whole core book in one file - all 13 chapters, from making a character to running the game, with every reference sheet, player and GM, at the end of the chapter it covers. 286 pages, a contents page and a bookmark for every chapter and sheet. The same rules as the site, laid out to read straight through.
Quick Reference Guide PDF · 7.6 MB
Every player reference sheet in one file, to print or keep open at the table: the core roll, building a character, combat, movement and hazards, one topic to a page. Letter size, bookmarked by section.
GM Reference Guide PDF · 8.7 MB
The GM sheets first - stat blocks, building an encounter, variant templates, building a creature, hazards and materials - then every player sheet, so one file covers the whole table. Letter size, bookmarked by section.

In your browser

Character Creator
Build a character step by step and export it as JSON. Nothing to install, and it always reads the current rules.
Character Creator on your phone For mobile players
The same creator, installed to your home screen — it opens like an app and works without a signal once you have used it once. On Android, open it in Chrome and take the install prompt. On iPhone you have to ask: open it in Safari, then Share → Add to Home Screen. Characters saved on a phone stay on that phone, so export anything you would hate to lose.
Battle Tracker
Run a fight in a browser tab: load your characters, roll Initiative, declare Action Brackets, and track Health, Poise, Sanity and Ki through the turn order. Works alongside any virtual tabletop, or none at all.
Encounter Difficulty Calculator
Load the party once, then build a fight and see what it costs before anyone sits down. Set how many of each creature and it weighs the table live, and every creature carries the count that turns the fight standard, hard or deadly.
The Brewery
Write in markdown, get pages laid out to print. Two columns by default, with stat blocks, callouts and roll boxes, four trim sizes, and a Print/PDF button. Pick a theme to match the setting you're writing for.

Desktop

Character Creator Windows · v0.12.39
The whole character creator as a native app. Pulls the current rules whenever it can reach the internet, and falls back to the copy it shipped with when it can't.
Battle Tracker Windows · v0.3.9
Run a fight without a virtual tabletop: Initiative, Action Brackets, turn order, and Health, Poise, Sanity and Ki for everyone in the scene.
Encounter Difficulty Calculator Windows · v0.2.8
The same calculator as a native app, so a fight can be sized with no internet. Reads the character files the creator exports, players and creatures alike.
The Brewery Windows · v0.4.13
The layout tool as a native app, typefaces and all, so it works with no internet and prints the same on every machine. Themes for 20 Below Core and Backwater Static, with more arriving as each setting is released.

Owlbear Rodeo

In Owlbear Rodeo, open the extensions menu, choose to add a custom extension, and paste the URL below the description. They're free. Both read the same character file the creator exports.

The player’s sheet at the table: load your character and everything on it works - Vitals, Ki, Fate Tokens, Exhausted, rests and Scenes, Skills, Gifts, gear and notes. Roll dice rolls Initiative, attacks, Skills and Gift Checks, and the whole room sees every roll. Already installed as 20 Below Dice? It updates itself.

The GM’s panel: every character in the session, plus the full Battle Tracker - Initiative, Action Brackets, turn order and damage. Drop a character onto the scene as a token in one click, or link one that is already there. Load art alongside a character file and it is used for both the token and the roster.

Backwater Static Assets

Maps, NPCs & Anomalies Soon
Table-ready material for Backwater Static - maps, NPC exports, Loose Anomalies, and the Anomalous Items Index. Free, like the setting itself.

Part of the 20 Below core rules.
